The Reframe, Envision, Modernize (REM) effort is reimagining the future of work at NCAR and UCAR. REM will define, formalize, and expand the flexible work model at our organization post pandemic to ensure a mission-focused work environment that is safe, equitable, and fair.
Many of our policies, procedures, and technical processes are changing to ensure our flexible work environment creates parity across the organization and remains focused on our mission of leading world-class Earth system science through partnerships, innovation, and service.
Currently, six REM Tiger Teams comprised of more than 70 staff members are charged with reviewing and determining flexible work model implementation strategies in relation to scientific research, human resources, information technology, public and community outreach, facilities management, and equity and inclusion. Once evaluated and approved, NCAR and UCAR will test and measure a flexible work model for implementation post pandemic.
Working with our partners
We are committed to ensuring our connection and commitments to our partners in the public, private, and academic sectors as we develop REM. Please consider sharing your ideas and thoughts with us on the future of work at NCAR and UCAR.
Until the COVID-19 pandemic is behind us, we will continue to operate under our Pandemic Response Plan. As part of our efforts, we are supporting the transition to online research and teaching. For more information on our commitment to connection, please visit our COVID-19 resources page.
