Downloading RealPlayer

To download RealPlayer:
- Visit the RealPlayer Downloads
page.
- Click Save in the download pop-up window. From here, you
can follow the prompts to install the player, or see Installing
RealPlayer.
Note: The download begins automatically through our RealDownload Express
(RDX) utility. If your system is not set to allow the use of ActiveX, or your
Internet security settings are too stringent, the download utility may stop
working. If you experience trouble with the RDX utility or you prefer to download
the installer manually, simply select the Restart Download link located within
the download page.

Installing RealPlayer

After you have downloaded RealPlayer, follow
these steps:
- From the RealOne Install Wizard, click the Express
Install option button, and then click Next.
- Review the End User License Agreement, and then click
Accept.
- Choose RealPlayer as the Default Media Browser for as many options
as you like, and then click Finish.
The installation is now complete, but you need to have a RealPlayer
account set up.
Setting up an account to start using RealPlayer:
From the Welcome to RealPlayer window, click Next.
From the Product Registration window, you will have two
choices:
- If you are a new user:
- Create an account.
- From here, choose your setup:
- 14-day free trial of RealPlayer Plus. Billing information is collected
here.
- Free RealPlayer. Choosing this option starts the free RealOne
Player.
- If you already have an account:
- Click the Already Registered? link.
- Sign in to start using RealPlayer.

Minimum System Requirements for RealPlayer and RealPlayer Plus
for Windows
- 233MHz Intel Pentium II processor
- 64MB of RAM
- 28.8Kbps modem (audio only)
- 16-bit sound card and speakers
- 65,000-color video display card set to display at 800x600 (video)
- Windows 98SE, Windows 2000, Windows ME, Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack
4 or later, Windows XP
- IE 5.0 or later
Recommended
- 300 MHz Intel Pentium III processor or greater (supports simultaneous
record/playback features)
- 128MB of RAM
- 56Kbps modem
- Full Duplex sound card and speakers
- 65,000-color video display card set to display at 1024x768 or higher (video)
- Windows 98SE, Windows 2000, Windows ME, Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack
4 or later, Windows XP
- IE 5.0 or later
- Note: Universal playback of Windows Media and QuickTime in RealPlayer
Plus requires that the Windows Media Player 6.0 or later and QuickTime Player
4.0 or later be installed on your computer.

for Mac OS X
- Mac* OS X (10.1.1 or later)
- 128 MB RAM
- G3, G4, MAC OS X compatible
- Internet Connection
- Browser support: Microsoft Internet Explorer* 5.1 or later or Netscape*
6.2 or later
(These browsers are not yet supported by RealOne services: Chimera, Camino,
iCab, OmniWeb, Mozilla, Opera, Safari)

Troubleshooting RealPlayer Installation

If during the installation you receive a warning that you have run out of
disk space, clear the temporary Internet files and adjust your system’s
Internet security settings:
- Click the Windows Start button, point to Settings, point
to Control Panel, and then click Internet Options.
- On the General tab, click Delete Files, and then click OK.
- Click the Security tab.
- Click Default Level, and then click OK.
- Quit all programs, and then try to download again using your Web browser.

Sign In Help

When you are signed-in, "Player Plus" will appear on the menu
bar of your RealPlayer. To sign in on a Windows PC, select Help
> Sign in to RealOne from your RealPlayer menu.
If you are using RealPlayer for Mac OS X, sign in at My
Account.
