Date: March 9-12, 2009
Location: Boulder, CO
Host: National Center for Atmospheric Research
This year's conference will focus on the challenge of breaking the
petascale barrier and examine the promise of new technologies such as
multi-core processors, acceleration coprocessors, advanced
interconnects and high-performance I/O solutions. It will also explore
the potential scaling and performance modifications necessary for
systems, data and applications to achieve petascale-class performance.
The four-day event will feature a broad range of presentations and
papers from HPC and large-scale cluster computing professionals in
industry, academia, and government. Speakers will address efforts to
integrate and develop science and engineering applications for
large-scale clusters, to achieve maximum performance and scalability.
A full day of tutorials will be offered as part of the overall
program. The conference attracts the world's top practitioners of
clustered computing who gather to share experiences and update
colleagues on the latest developments in the field.
Highlights of the 2009 conference include keynotes by Omar Ghattas, of
the University of Texas at Austin, Bill Camp, from Intel, Pratap
Pattnaik, from IBM's TJ Watson Research Center, and Marc Tremblay,
from Sun Microsystems, Inc. There will also be a Special Session on
Next Generation Computing and a Panel on Accelerator Strategies.
