UCAR and TIAA-CREF are pleased to announce that the funds being
offered under your retirement plan have been significantly expanded.
You will be able to take advantage of a broader range of investment
choices effective January 5, 2009.
All current options will continue to be available; the new options
will include TIAA-CREF Lifecycle Funds and the following Mutual Funds:

Mid-Cap Growth Fund

S&P 500 Index Fund

TIAA-CREF will be conducting on campus meetings to describe the range
of choices available to you. The schedule for these meetings will be
announced after the first of the year.
