The annual request for the UCAR Distinguished Achievement and
Outstanding Accomplishment Awards (the latter includes Publication,
Scientific and Technical Advancement, Administrative Achievement,
Education and Outreach, and Mentoring) has been distributed. (Please

As you will note in the memo and in the award procedures (found at:
http://www.fin.ucar.edu/polpro/section6/6-14.html), a clarification
was made last year: any UCAR, NCAR, or UOP employee may initiate a
nomination. However, the nomination must be coordinated with and
submitted by the director of one of the nine entities listed in the
procedures. The NCAR Lab Associate Directors of CISL, ESSL, RAL, and
EOL; the NCAR Directorate; UOP; UCAR Corporate Affairs; UCAR Finance
and Administration; and Education and Outreach.
