The tradition of staff entertainment will continue at the Spring Fling on May 11, with a new
twist this year. Signups are under way for “Center Green Idol,” our own version of the hit
TV show “American Idol.” It will include emcee “Brian” Seacrest (Brian Bevirt, CISL) and
three esteemed judges:
Simon Cowell (Richard Neale,CGD)
Paula Abdul (Wendy Abshire, COMET)
Randy Jackson (Tim Barnes, EO)
As in past years, all lip-syncers are invited to participate. In addition, you and your
colleagues can sing, juggle, pantomime, play the accordion, derive equations, or mount
any other kind of production, whether solo or group. The more creative, the better!
Unlike “American Idol”, you won’t have to worry about scathing criticism. On “Center
Green Idol,” our judges are carefully trained to support and empower all contestants.
Should anyone get out of line, the EAC’s crackerjack security team will take care of the
matter immediately.
Mark your calendar for May 11, and start planning your act now! If you do plan to
perform, please sign up as soon as possible so the EAC can gauge interest. Also, watch
for a follow-up announcement with more on the criteria that the EAC plans to use to select
the winning Center Green Idols.
