In this era of international science and international interest in
science, it is important to get the word out in many languages. The
Earth and Sun Systems Laboratory is working with UCAR Communications
to develop an inventory of staff who are fluent in languages other
than English. Our immediate goal is to translate some top-level Web
pages, but there are many other situations where staff’s language
skills could be useful, from networking with visitors to expanding our
international reach.
If you are a native speaker or are entirely fluent in a language other
than English, and are willing to be part of this inventory, please
email Lucy Warner (lwarner@ucar.edu) specifying the language or
languages you speak. If you have any questions, contact Lucy at
extension 8602 or Barb Petruzzi at extension 1602. This matrix will
serve the entire organization, so your help is extremely important.
