    The cold and flu season is rapidly approaching. What is a person to do?

    Some simple precautions greatly reduce our risk of catching these
    respiratory illnesses.

    1. Stay away from people who are coughing or sneezing. Respiratory
    illnesses are caused by viruses that are spread by droplets. Sneezed
    droplets will easily travel 5' at 100 mph!

    2. Wash your hands - a lot. Most important times are before eating;
    before touching your eyes, nose, or mouth; and after sneezing or coughing.

    3. If you do become ill with a fever - please keep your germs at home;
    don't share germs with your coworkers!

    4. Catch your coughs and sneezes in the crook of your elbow or in a
    tissue. Throw away the tissue and wash your hands.

    5. Get your annual flu shot.
