  • Careers at UCAR - Working with Us
    At UCAR, our staff understands the importance of collaboration and the excellence it takes to support scientific research. We take pride in our highly educated workforce - a staff that values learning, thinking, and contributing to the body of knowledge involving climate, weather and atmospheric science.

  • Advanced Study Program (ASP)
    Sponsors recent Ph.D. scientists and students in Ph.D. programs, bringing them to NCAR to expand their own studies and enrich the center's research. ASP also offers seminars, workshops, and colloquia on areas of particular importance to the atmospheric sciences.

  • ASP Graduate Visitor Program
    brings graduate students to NCAR for 3 to 12-month collaborative visits with the endorsement of their thesis advisors and in pursuit of their thesis research

  • ASP Postdoctoral Fellowships

  • COMET MetEd (Meteorology Education and Training)

Minority Serving Institutions and Diversity Resources

A Minority-Serving Institution (MSI) is a designation by the U.S. Department of Education of a college or university, for example as a Historically Black College or University (HBCU), a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI), a Tribal College or University (TCU), etc. Learn more about MSIs in this eJournal USA article from the U.S. Department of State. The Department of Education maintains a list of postsecondary MSIs (colleges and universities).
