| Mission Statement |
| The NCAR Science Store's mission is to help support and enhance science learning by providing products related to scientific concepts and by promoting our research facility.
The National Center for Atmospheric Research, or NCAR, was established in 1960. NCAR is a non-profit research organization. Located in Boulder, Colorado, NCAR is recognized for its scientific contributions to our understanding of climate change, ozone depletion, solar physics, severe storms and aviation weather hazards. A consortium of Universities play a central role in both the governance and the oversight of the center. This consortium was created out of an original committee
and called the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research, or UCAR. The National Science Foundation is a primary sponsor of NCAR.
The NCAR Science Store was developed due to public requests for weather and science related products with an educational theme.
Our Boulder store has one of the best collections of science books for all ages.
Profits generated from our store will go into the education and outreach programs of the institution, helping to promote science learning among all ages. |
