The NCAR Mesa
Lab is open to the public daily from 8:00-5:00 weekdays and 9:00-4:00
weekends and holidays.

Funded
by a grant from the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District
(SCFD), NCAR has teamed with Wild Bear Center for Nature Discovery
to offer new Wild Science Saturday Workshops for area students
and families.
On January 24, learn about Nature’s Architects at
NCAR’s Mesa Lab from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Explore
the world of environmentally friendly architecture and discover
many energy efficient resources from straw bales and mud to
recycled tires and solar power. Build your own sustainable
structures that work with the elements of the Earth!
On
February 28, learn about outdoor Wilderness Survival at NCAR’s
Mesa Lab from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Create avalanche models
and learn about avalanche safety. Navigate the scienceof snow.
Experiment with hands-on survival skills and team building
fun!
These free public events are offered to students, teachers,

You Seen NCAR’s New Attractions?
Last June, NCAR’s Mesa Lab reopened to the public
featuring a new climate change exhibit and audio tour. Now is a
great time to visit or revisit these exciting additions!
Learn about climate change with NCAR’s “Climate Discovery”
exhibit featuring interesting artifacts, engaging plasma screen
presentations, and hands-on fun!
Spend time exploring the Visitor’s Center with an audio
tour to discover the history, research, and exhibits unique to NCAR!
