Boulders Collage Childrens Museum and NCAR/UCARs Office of Education and Outreach are sponsoring the 2001 Environmental Stewardship Award, in honor of Earth Day. For the third year, area students are being invited to become environmental heroes and stewards of our community. The Greenies fund special Earth Day projects in the areas of recycling, composting, environmental education, energy, conservation, sustainability, and air and water quality. Individual classes or whole schools (K-12) may apply for the awards. The Greenies cover material expenses for each selected project and include presentation of an environmental Greenie trophy. The deadline for application for this years awards is 5:00 p.m., Friday, 16 March 2001. Online application and information about last years award projects is available on the Web at: http://www.ucar.edu/outreach/greenies/index.html. The Greenies are funded by a grant from the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD). For more information, contact the Office of Education and Outreach at 303-497-1185. LWC
