Boulder’s Collage Children’s Museum and NCAR/UCAR’s Office of Education and Outreach are sponsoring the 2001 Environmental Stewardship Award, in honor of Earth Day. For the third year, area students are being invited to become environmental heroes and stewards of our community. The “Greenies” fund special Earth Day projects in the areas of recycling, composting, environmental education, energy, conservation, sustainability, and air and water quality. Individual classes or whole schools (K-12) may apply for the awards. The “Greenies” cover material expenses for each selected project and include presentation of an environmental “Greenie” trophy. The deadline for application for this year’s awards is 5:00 p.m., Friday, 16 March 2001.
