What I do

• Maintain an on-line, multimedia image library in presentation- and publication-quality digital formats for internal and external audiences

• Coordinate the design, scope, content, and quality of our video and still imagery collections

• Provide production and photo-research support for UCAR/NCAR/UOP print and on-line publications.

• Support news media in providing still and video imagery

• Participate in video, CD-ROM, and DVD production

• Participate as a member of the UCAR Communications group in planning the activities and goals of the group

My background
I officially joined UCAR in July 1972. However, I had worked under contract at the Research Aviation Facility for three years prior. My life before UCAR included positions as office manager/medical assistant at Flatirons Medical Center, personnel employment assistant for the Boulder Valley School District, and administrative secretary for the City of Boulder's Planning and Zoning Department. I attended the University of Colorado in the mid-1970s and obtained a Certificate in Management Development in 1979 and a Certificate in Commercial Design in 1987. I continue to attend professional courses, seminars, and workshops. I also hold a Notary Public's license for the state of Colorado.

• Communicator Award of Distinction for the video Introduction to NCAR and UCAR

• Numerous local and national awards from the Society for Technical Communication for several NCAR and UCAR publications

• NCAR Administrative Incentive Award for outstanding leadership, United Way Achievement Award for exceeding NCAR's fund-raising goal, Mental Health Center Recognition Award for outstanding service, Hospice Appreciation Award for development of a long-term facilities plan

• Boulder Jewish Recognition Award for tutoring English to a Russian Jewish immigrant for two years

• Current: Hispanic Women's Coalition
