As part of the media relations team my role involves:
- Scouting for news in UCAR and NCAR
- Writing news releases
- Assisting reporters and providing background materials to the media
- Working with film crews
- Providing logistical support for media conferences
- Monitoring and providing analysis of media coverage
My background
I was born and raised in Christchurch, New Zealand. In April 2007
I joined UCAR after relocating to the United States. I have worked
as a freelance journalist and in media relations and communications for
the university, local government, and technology sectors in New Zealand.
I have a bachelor’s degree in English and graduate diploma
in journalism from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. I
also have a post graduate diploma in communication management from
Massey University in New Zealand.
