What's going on around the organization?

UCAR Communications provides several ways to keep you abreast of developments at NCAR, UOP, and the rest of UCAR. Here's what you need to know to stay connected.

Today@UCAR
Today@UCAR, the Internet news service for all staff, includes six sections: Daily Announcements, Calendar of Events, Careers, Cafeteria Menus, Visitors, and Classifieds. All sections are available continuously on the Web (Visitors updates weekly; all other sections update daily on the Web site).

Daily Announcements are e-mailed every business day. Four other sections are compiled and e-mailed on Thursdays (Classifieds are available on the Web only).

Any staff member may submit a Daily Announcement, Classified, or Calendar item to Today@UCAR; check the guidelines and use the online forms provided on the Web site.

How to get it

All staff with a UCAR e-mail address receive the Daily Announcements automatically (you cannot subscribe or unsubscribe; consult your local systems administrator if you're not receiving them).

You can use the Web to subscribe for e-mail delivery of any of the weekly compilations of the Calendar, Careers, Cafeteria Menus, and/or Visitors.

Questions about Today@UCAR? Contact Nicole Gordon, ext. 8616.

Staff Notes logo

Staff Notes
A roundup of science news, profiles of staff, facility updates, and photos. All groups automatically receive print copies of Staff Notes six times a year; if you're not receiving a copy, or if your group would like more or fewer print copies, check with your administrator or have her/him contact the mailroom, ext. 1143.

Watch for e-mailed announcements in Today@UCAR of postings between print editions, including news, new Delphi questions, and reports on special events like the Up-the-Hill Races or the Spring Fling.

You can also subscribe for e-mail notification of new online content.

Questions or ideas for Staff Notes? Contact Nicole Gordon, ext. 8616.

UCAR Magazine
Written for the diverse UCAR community, the magazine offers a rich mix of feature stories and Web-only columns about NCAR, UCAR, and our collaborators. The print issue is distributed three times a year to all staff and subscribers. Currents, the Web-only section, covers high-interest weather and climate events, atmospheric science in the media, and Web posts from the community. UCAR Magazine began publication in September 2009, replacing the UCAR Quarterly, whose archives are here.

if you're not receiving a copy, or if your group would like more or fewer print copies, check with your administrator or have her/him contact the mailroom, ext. 1143. You can also subscribe for e-mail notification of new online content.
