The NCAR Library subscribes to many abstract services searchable by

• Name of Publication

The searching process is consistent for current and in depth abstracts/articles. Search results list the most recent articles first by default. Each database must be searched separately.

Web of Science	1972 – present	Indexes articles only in peer reviewed journals and some open access journals in the physical and social sciences. Includes the number of times papers are cited
Meteorological and Geoastrophysical Abstracts (MGA)	1975 – Present	Includes references for all types of literature in the atmospheric sciences
Science Direct		Search within Elsevier online books and journals. Many journals go back to Volume 1, Issue 1.
IEEExplore	1913 - present	Contains engineering articles from IEEE journals and conferences
