Get Your Kicks on Route 66 - Art Show in the Foothills LibraryNow showing in the NCAR Library are works by two NCAR staff members, Carlye Calvin and Jamaica Jones.

Carlye, the UCAR photographer, is best known for her images of storms, clouds, and scientists roaming unfriendly terrain. In this new show, she shows off a more colorful side with nostalgic images taken along Route 66.

Complimenting the photographs is a collection of jewelry by Jamaica Jones, Special Projects Librarian. Once a professional jewelry designer, Jamaica creates delicate works from vintage glass, vintage lucite, crystal and sparkling gems.

Pottery Now through September 28, pottery by Sumi von Dassow is on display at the Foothills Library. Ms. von Dassow's pieces include brightly-colored functional pottery, burnished and pit-fired vessels, and ceramic sculpture.

Purple Flower Photographs by NCAR's Joe VanAndel are on display in the Foothills Library from June through July 2009. Joe's pictures illustrate the beauty of our landscapes, the brilliant colors of flowers, and the variety of textures in nature.

Turtle Skate Sculpture Jennifer Rudkin, a ceramic sculptor, writer, and professor, is exhibiting her original animal clay sculptures in the display cabinet by the east entrance to the FL Library through March. Her love for the natural earth tone colors and textures of clay are expressed in these delightful creatures which include an elephant, kangaroo, hippopotamus, and a walrus.
