When appropriate, emergency information will also be distributed to all staff via voice- and e-mail.

The Security Office is located at the Mesa Laboratory front desk and is occupied 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The emergency and info hotline numbers are also posted on stickers attached to all UCAR/NCAR/UOP telephones.

 

Due to Inclement Weather

UCAR makes every attempt to stay open. However, when conditions warrant, facilities may go on delayed opening or may be closed altogether. Closures or delayed openings are communicated via the telephone hotline for staff (see above) by 6:00 a.m. whenever feasible. Closings during the working day will be communicated as soon as they are made.

UCAR also notifies Clear Channel Communications of closures due to weather for broadcast via their radio stations. Please consult the Clear Channel Web site for a listing of these stations.

Visitor Center Closures

NCAR's Mesa Lab Visitor Center is open seven days a week, except for occasional maintenance or inclement weather closures. Maintenance closures are announced via:
