2004 Membership Committee Report

The Membership Committee met on 15 June to review the materials from institutions renewing their Memberships and Affiliations with UCAR. The committee considered six Membership renewal applications and four Affiliate renewals. There were no new applications for Membership or Affiliation.

We recommend approval for all institutions reviewed. The Members will vote on the UCAR Member renewals at the Annual Meeting. No vote is taken on the Academic Affiliate renewals; the Membership Committee approval completes their renewal procedure. The reports from the committee are linked below.

The committee also spent time reviewing the application procedures for new and renewal memberships and affiliations. We will continue to work on streamlining this process over the next few months, and post the revised procedures on the Membership website as soon as they are in final form.

I want to thank the members of the committee for all of the work involved in reading the applications, writing the reports, and reviewing the procedures: Rung Fu (Georgia Tech), Charles Lin (McGill U), Gudrun Magnusdottir (U California, Irvine), Terry Nathan (U California, Davis), Roger Pielke, Sr. (Colorado State U), Chuck Wash (Naval Postgraduate School), and Don Wuebbles (U Illinois at Urbana-Champaign).
