JSTOR is an electronic database composed of the backfiles of scholarly journals that include general science, ecology and botany. The focus of this database is to provide full text access to older issues of journals. Examples of titles in JSTOR are: Biometrika Ecological Applications Ecology Journal of the American Statistical Association Limnology and Oceanography Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London Series A Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences Science SIAM Journal on Numerical Analysis You can access JSTOR from the Info Resources page of the Library website at http://www.ucar.edu/library/resources.html. As you browse the list of journals you will find many titles not previously owned by the NCAR Library. You have the capability to conduct searches and read or print full text articles from any of these journals.

"2004 Summer Ozone Challenge" Participants - Temperatures are heating up again. Remember to leave your car at home as often as possible and fill out your "2004 Summer Ozone Challenge" Calendar. The Summer Ozone Challenge runs through August 31st, so it's not too late to participate and win. Just go to www.bccac.org and click on the 2004 Summer Ozone Challenge link. On those days you have to drive- Filling up less often will reduce pollution and save you money: 1. Close your windows and use your air conditioning on the highway, but put your windows down to stay cool in town. 2. Ski racks or rooftop cargo boxes may cost you 2 to 4 miles per gallon. Remove them when not needed. 3. Use your cruise control whenever possible.

The Mesa Lab's exhibits, tours, and science store have a limited
advertising budget, but that doesn't stop us from thinking of ways to
help publicize our educational outreach to the public.
If you'd like to help spread the word about the science learning
opportunities we offer through the visitor program, we've come up
with one relatively quick and easy way you can lend a hand.
You can help vote NCAR's visitor program one of the best things to do
in Boulder. Voting online takes just a few minutes; you have until
August 2nd to cast your ballot.
How to participate:
The ballot and instructions for Best Services, Faces & Places are
available in current copies of the Daily Camera and online at
http://cfapps.thedailycamera.com/BocoVote/Ballot_2.cfm
(or http://dailycamera.com/vote brings you to an introductory page
where you will also find a separate ballot for Best Shopping).
You can vote for an organization in up to 3 categories. We're
recommending these 2:
Best Place to Entertain Kids: NCAR tour
Best Place to Go on a Hot Day: NCAR tour
You might then want to pick a 3rd category for NCAR that you think
appropriate.
Then - IMPORTANT - vote for other favorite "services, faces, and
places" in at least 8 more categories (7 more if you picked NCAR
3 times) to fulfill the ballot's MINIMUM REQUIREMENT OF 10
CATEGORIES.
Finally, here are 2 suggestions for categories to add to next
year's contest:
Best 2005 Category to Add:
Best Educational Exhibit/Tour Program
or
Best Place to Take Out of Town Guests

Would you like to read the current day edition of the Wall Street Journal from your desktop? The Library is considering a subscription plan that allows 25 individuals with their own login and password to access the current day plus a 30-day full text archive (85% of print edition). You would also be able to search for citations in the archives from 1979 to the present. Because stories are continually updated, the online article may not be the same as the print. If you would like to participate in this subscription plan, please contact Leslie Forehand, x8505, forehand@ucar.edu.
