NCAR Mesa-Lab cafeteria.

Mesa Lab Step Aerobics - 5 days per
week!
Have you wanted to shed a few pounds
and get into shape but couldn't get
motivated? Do you think exercising is
too hard and no fun at all? Do you like
good music with a solid beat? Do you
enjoy dancing? Do you like to laugh??
I'll bet you two free classes I can
change your mind about exercise. It
can be fun! You will feel better! And you
will laugh! If you've wanted to try out
step aerobics in the past but have
been "afraid", try mine. The moves are
simple, the pace is average and the
instructor makes mistakes before you
can! The camaraderie is fantastic!

Pilates-evolved Body and Mind
Conditioning
Christine Guzy has completed training
in the traditional method of Joseph H.
Pilates, Polestar rehab techniques
evolved from the method,
TransformBreathing, and is also a
Shaklee distributor who can help with
your nutritional needs. Pilates-evolved
Body and Mind Conditioning is like
having the owners manual for the body!
These classes will help increase
strength, flexibility, and range of motion,
increase body awareness, improve
posture, alleviate neck and back
tension, and add to the enjoyment of
daily and recreational activities.
Christine will offer a free fundamentals
mat class in the Fitness Room from
11:00 to 12:00. Just go to 2B and follow
the signs! She will also be available in
the cafeteria from 12:00 to 1:30 to
answer questions about problem areas
and achieving your fitness goals.

Erik Kluzek
Mesa Lab Tae Kwon Do
An introduction to Tae Kwon Do Chung
Do Kwan, a traditional Korean-style of
martial arts. Members of the Tae Kwon
Do class will be available to discuss
Tae Kwon Do training in the Mesa Lab.
Also information on Tae Kwon Do and
the martial arts will be available. Erik
Kluzek is a 3rd Degree Black Belt who
has been training in Tae Kwon Do
since 1983, and teaching for the past
eight years. Get a free lesson if you

Mesa Lab Low Impact Aerobics
Low-impact "Video" aerobics. We use
various popular videotapes. This class
is particularly good for beginning step
aerobic folks, providing a low-intensity,
fat-burning workout. And, best of all,
the class is always FREE! We will have
a video setup to showcase the
videotapes we use.

Long-time UCAR/NCAR employee Jean Johnson died on Monday, 19 October, at Boulder Community Hospital. Jean started at NCAR in 1977 and retired as property manager in 1995. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, a brother, and two grandchildren. A memorial service will take place at 4 p.m. Saturday, 24 October, at St. Aidan's Episcopal Church, 2425 Colorado Ave., Boulder. Contributions in Jean's name may be made to the charity of your choice or to the Parent-Infant Program at the Hearing, Speech & Deafness Center, 1620 18th Ave., Seattle WA 98122-2798, 206-323-5770, admin@hsdc.org.
