PacifiCare has determined that only about 10% of the green dental claim forms were being used by dentists, thus they have stopped providing the forms to us. All employees currently enrolled in the PacifiCare Dental Plan will receive a Dental Identification Card within the week. Your dentist will need to include the plan number and your identification number on their own claim forms. There is also a phone number on the card that your dentist can call if they have any questions about PacifiCare coverage. If you have any questions about the card, or would like to request an additional card, please contact Human Resources, not PacifiCare.

TITLE:SPACE WEATHER
Gary Heckman
NOAA Space Environment Center
Though unseen, space weather has a profound effect on terrestrial
systems. Electric power systems, satellites, communications, and
defense monitoring, as well as astronaut safety, depend on
knowledge of space weather for reliable efficient operations.
Space Weather describes conditions in the upper atmosphere and in
space from Sun to Earth. It includes the more frequent quiet
conditions and the times of storms that range from weak to very
intense. Boulder is the home of the Space Environment Center,
one of the centers of the National Centers for Environmental
Prediction. SEC monitors space weather, synthesizes a
description of conditions in space at a given time, then issues
alerts, warnings and forecasts of disturbances in that
environment.
This talk will feature pictorial descriptions of some space
weather phenomena, some of the effects on systems, and the
products and their production at the Space Environment Center. A
tour of the center and a visit with the duty space weather
forecaster will be included.
AS ALWAYS, EVERYONE IS WELCOME AT OUR MEETINGS!
