What are you packing away for vacation reading? Is there an exciting
or illuminating book you'd like to tell others about? The August issue
of Staff Notes Monthly will feature your suggestions for summer
reading. We'd like to feature books with some scientific or social
connection to the atmosphere and earth system; these might be
textbooks, histories, biographies, current-event summaries, or anything
else relevant and interesting. We also want to spotlight UCAR/NCAR/UOP
staff who have written or edited books in the past few months.
Please send your suggestions and mini-reviews of 200 words or less to
Bob Henson, bhenson@ucar.edu, as soon as possible. Deadline is Monday
4 August.
Last chance for Walk/BikeWeek T-shirts
Two extra T-shirts commemorating Walk/BikeWeek '97 are available for $5
each. Both are XL; one is dark khaki, the other white. If you're
interested, contact Bob Henson, bhenson@ucar.edu.
Also, a few cyclists have not yet paid for their T-shirts distributed
earlier this month. Please send your payment to Bob Henson (FL4) ASAP
if you haven't already.
