If you are new to computing on NCAR's Cray computers, the UNICOS Orientation class can help quick-start your computing. Classes with less than five people signed up may be cancelled. ************************************************************************ CIVILITY WORKSHOP On Saturday, June 14, Congressman David Skaggs will present an overview of the importance of civility and will report on the recent Bipartisan Congressional Retreat held in Hershey, Pennsylvania. This workshop will provide an opportunity for citizens to explore the nature of civility and why it is essential to all communities of all sizes and levels from Boulder County to the United States of America. Also speaking will be Mark Gerzon, lead facilitator for the Pennsylvania retreat. The program is co-sponsored by UCAR's Boulder County Healthy Communities Initiative and the Office of Government of Affairs. The workshop will take place in the Boulder Public Library Auditorium, on 9th and Canyon Streets and runs from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. For more information, call Susan Foster, X 2108, susanf@ucar.edu. ************************************************************************ WALK AND BIKEWEEK '97 UPDATE: 21-29 JUNE Walk & BikeWeek '97, sponsored by GO Boulder, will take place 21-29 June. Although the official event is oriented toward foot and pedal power, the Transportation Alternatives Group encourages you to honor the week by using the non-single-occupant-vehicle mode of your choice. Find up-to-date Walk & BikeWeek details and sign yourself up as a participant at http://www.comet.ucar.edu/bikeweek --Free breakfast: Start the week off right with a free breakfast courtesy of UCAR/NCAR/UOP. Just walk or bike between 7:30 and 9:00 a.m. to the patio between FL1 and FL2 or the ML tree plaza. --Bike clinic: Chain squeaking? Cables sticking? Get your bike in tip-top shape at the free maintenance clinic sponored by TAP.
