The shutdown is scheduled to begin at 6:00 a.m. and will continue until approximately 6:00 p.m. that evening. All Mesa Lab and Fleischmann Building occupants can expect intermittent interruptions in the electrical power at any time during scheduled shutdown hours. In addition, there will be no heating or air conditioning throughout the down time. In addition, for safety reasons public access to both the Mesa Lab and the Fleischmann Building will be restricted throughout the shutdown hours. Thank-you for your cooperation and assistance in informing those in your division of the scheduled down time. If you have any questions, please contact John Pereira at ext 1128 or the maintenance request line at ext 1120. ************************************************************************ TAI CHI CLASSES AT ML AND FL On April 1, Tai Chi classes taught by Sasha Immerman will start at the ML and FL fitness centers. Tai Chi, an ancient form of Chinese martial arts, is a slow, dance-like exercise which improves circulation, is beneficial to the heart and provides flexibility to all the joints. Other benefits include increased leg strength, enhancement of balance and coordination, and since it is a form of meditation, Tai Chi also relieves stress and tension. Ms. Immerman teaches the Tai Chi at the Boulder Y.M.C.A., Storage Tech, Longmont Rec Center, and Kakes Studios. ML: Tuesday and Thursday 11-12 Cost: $50, drop-in fee $7.00 Class begins 1 April for 4 weeks FL: Friday, 5-6 pm

Everyone should take extra precautions with their skin when soaking up the rays. Whether at the beach or just working in the yard. Dr. Russell will tell us how to protect ourselves from the sun's damaging rays and help us identify the early warnings signs of skin cancer. Following the 1/2 hour presentation, Dr. Russell will conduct personal screenings which will be free to all staff and their adult family members. The private screenings are set up in 5-minute intervals. Those who wish to participate in the private screenings need to schedule time slot.
