In the old days, it was simply called "working at home" for a few hours. Today it is more than that, a lot more. With the advent and proliferation of electronic communications tools it is increasingly easier, as well as more difficult, to efficiently "work at home." Some jobs and people fit quite well with the concept of remote working; others not so well or not at all. And, there are corporate policies and procedures governing remote working at UCAR. This seminar explores all the various issues, policies and procedures associated with remote working. The seminar is intended for both employees and managers. Employees can learn how to successfully structure and perform their work from remote locations. Managers can learn how to determine which jobs and which employees are best suited and how to successfully manage those employees. Discussion topics include: Overview of telecommuting Telecomuter tips Dealing with obstacles Determining which jobs and employees are best suited Remote working safety UCAR policies and procedures Performance evaluations For more information or to register, please contact Cheryl Cristanelli, ext. 8708 or email cherylc@ucar.edu.
