An NCAR/UCAR mosaic

In the few minutes of a solar eclipse, priceless coronal data can emerge. HAO has ventured worldwide to catch eclipses since its first expedition to Khartoum, Sudan, in February 1952. Alice Lecinski (HAO) was part of the eclipse team that took new instruments to the Caribbean in February 1997.
