The yolk's on the mesa in 13th egg drop
|The 13th annual egg drop brought superstitions of all sorts to life on Friday, 28 May. Official launchers Julie Caron (CGD) and Chris Torrence (ASP) send "Fried Egg the 13th," (Thomas Dickson-Hunt, Eisenhower Elementary, with aunt Rebecca) on its way. Sunny side up at launch, the dish did a backflip on descent and appeared to be toast on the driveway. As it turned out, this was a no-egg omelet: due to mysterious circumstances, the entry was yolkless (how very Boulder!).|
|One of the inevitable Star Wars tie-ins came with "Jabba the Egg," whipped up by NCAR Food Services. The entry dispensed a colorful cluster of water balloons en route to its eggnominious--and very wet--demise. (Photos by Carlye Calvin.)|
