| When sunrise only comes once a year, it's an experience to be savored. Brian Ridley captured this Arctic dawn from a Canadian military base only a few degrees south of the North Pole. He and several other NCAR staff were stationed there last spring for an experiment to clarify a mysterious, periodic ozone depletion near ground level. For more on the project, see "ACD studies a newfound ozone disappearance in the Arctic" in this issue. |
