It's hard to imagine life at ML or FL without receptionists Shelby Pillow and Liz Kriete, respectively, keeping things in order. But since its inauguration as UCAR North, FL4 had been a collection of offices without a linchpin. That changed on 6 April with the arrival of former NCAR shuttle driver Shannon Aguilar. She's stationed at the newly created FL4 reception desk (south end of the lobby) from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. each weekday. Shannon provides FL4 and its hundred-plus occupants with all the services that ML and FL people have come to expect: petty cash disbursements, check cashing, and sales of stamps, discount movie tickets, and Dining Dollars. These banking-related services are available from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Black bags can be dropped off and picked up at Shannon's desk up to 1:00 p.m. (afterward, use the self-service black-bag station that remains at the north end of the lobby).
