Results from the Latest Waste Audit
Glamorous they weren't, but the dumpster dives conducted by ESC's
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle subcommittee (R3) in January 1994 and January
1995 did yield pay dirt. Shown below are totals, in pounds,
representing the entire landfill-bound waste streams at the Mesa and
Foothills Labs for the 48-hour periods sampled each year. Items that
had been sent at earlier points for recycling were excluded. This year's
waste auditors were Eron Brennan, Christine Brodeur, Forrest Cook,
Judy Dayhoff, Hank Fisher, Bob Henson, Sue Jensen, Hillary Keyes,
Dave Maddy, David McNutt, Judy Miller, Corinne Morse, Jerry Olson,
Nan Rosenbloom, Paula Rubin, Stephanie Shearer, and Dick Valent.
Dean Lindstrom, R3 program manager, thanks the gang for "rolling up
their sleeves and diving in."
