AN UPDATE ON WHO'S WHO IN HUMAN RESOURCES Since the 21 April issue of Staff Notes, when we informed readers on the personnel and activities within Human Resources Services (HR), some changes have occurred. Three new hires have come on board to replace departing staff Barbara Mendez, Kathy Poling, and Kristen Womer. Some cost-saving reorganization also has taken place. Here is a run-down on the new HR staff and the new duties of some continuing staff. New staff: Jackie Christianson, compensation analyst, ext. 8703, processes job reclassifications and reviews job descriptions for Requests for Staff. Delaine Orendorff, HR assistant, ext. 8711, provides assistance with compensation-related processes. Shuang Yang, HR assistant, ext. 8710, manages the UCAR employee database and handles such benefits as health insurance, TIAA/CREF, and workers' compensation. New duties: Chyrl Brunner, administrator, ext. 8718, works with ad hoc committees such as the Institutional Equity Committee, Human Resources Advisory Committee, and Compensation Oversight Board. Chyrl also provides government identification cards when needed for frequent travelers. Sharon Hsi, HR assistant, ext. 8714, provides assistance with securing visas for international visitors and manages the visitor database. Jodi Wiemer, employment and staff development administrator, ext. 8717, develops and conducts training programs, directs staff to resources for special-needs development, and assists supervisors in hiring exempt employees. If you have any questions about HR's new structure or its ongoing services, feel free to contact any HR staff member. --BH
