SOARS poster session
The already-busy final week of summer for SOARS protégés got even more action-packed this year. On top of finalizing their research papers and presenting at the SOARS Colloquium, the protégés put together posters on their work and presented them on August 9 at Center Green. The idea was to round out the protégés' experience by giving them a taste of another common format for presenting scientific results, as well as a chance to discuss their work in more detail with mentors and others on hand.
"Overall, the extra work seemed worth it," says Raj Pandya, SOARS director. "The protégés appreciated the chance to talk about their work interactively, and mentors and staff liked the opportunity to view the range of research projects."
Below, SOARS mentor Leslie Hartten (CIRES-NOAA) asks protégé Marcus Walter about his research into the effects of climate change on flood frequency.
