Just before Sunrise....
A crane prepares to lift this 23-foot
(7-meter) gondola outside Center Green. Constructed as
part of the Sunrise project, the gondola will carry a solar
telescope that can capture the highest-resolution images
of the Sun’s surface ever obtained. The crane will
lift the gondola just high enough that engineers can practice
pointing it toward
the Sun.
