So much for a lazy summer vacation. SOARS and RESESS protégés and their director, Raj Pandya, are hard at work pondering everything from severe weather to air pollution and GPS applications. SOARS (Significant Opportunities in Atmospheric Research and Science) and RESESS (Research Experience in Solid Earth Science for Students) began on June 5, with 9 new protégés joining 14 returning protégés for 10 weeks of intensive research in both the atmospheric and solid Earth sciences.
