Santa Claus, bearing a subtle resemblance to HR director Bob Roesch, brought smiles to the faces of dozens of children at the annual Children’s Holiday Party. Below, Santa discusses gift ideas with Chloe Brasket, 3, the daughter of CGD’s Marika Holland.
The party, held in the Foothills Lab cafeteria on 13 December, also featured dreidel games and crafts activities. Children painted ornaments, such as the unicorn below. The Employee Activities Committee sponsored the fun.

Work
has reached a critical junction on the much-anticipated new
research aircraft known as the High-performance Instrumented
Airborne Platform for Environmental Research (HIAPER). 
UCAR
staffers have been busy lining up funding and speakers for
a much-anticipated Washington, D.C., forum on careers in the
geosciences that will bring together talented undergraduates
and leading researchers. 
The
grass is brown and the leaves are gone, but love at the organization
is in full bloom. 
UCAR
has selected Craig Blurton, an educator who specializes in
science and computers, as the director of GLOBE.
