A SOARS summer
UCAR's nationally recognized Significant Opportunities in Atmospheric Research and Science (SOARS) program has enrolled a record number of protégés this year: 28. The undergraduates are wrapping up their 10-week paid internships after conducting research projects with scientists at NCAR and other institutions. Dozens of volunteers worked with SOARS staff to provide the protégés with mentoring support on scientific research, scientific writing, leadership, and community life issues. The protégés will present their research findings at the SOARS Colloquium, a series of seminars taking place at the Mesa and Foothills Labs 11-13 August.
