Refurbishment update: ML Library will move temporarily

The NCAR Library’s holdings at the Mesa Lab will be inaccessible to UCAR staff from May through July during the building’s ongoing refurbishment. Library staffers will work temporarily on the second floor of the building’s A Tower, where they are planning to provide a public space for users to visit and access e-mail and the Web, browse a collection of journals available only in paper form, and check out new materials.

Since the ML Library’s shelved collection will be inaccessible during this time, librarians will use interlibrary loan to obtain requested materials usually found there. Library staff phone numbers will remain the same. Interlibrary loan requests and questions should continue to go to ncarill@ucar.edu (ext. 1177).

Users can also check out materials at the library facility on the third floor of FL2, which will remain open.

New program

The library is moving ahead with a program to digitize NCAR’s technical reports. To read the full-text versions of some of the early NCAR Technical Notes from as long ago as the 1960s and 1970s, go to the library catalog and click on Digital Media and then hierarchy.
