UCAR/NCAR leads Boulder’s Bike-to-Work Day
Helping to lead the way toward cleaner air, UCAR
took first place among large organizations in Boulder’s annual
Bike-to-Work Day in June, based on the high number of staffers
who used alternative transportation to get to the office. Moreover,
Team UCAR/NCAR won the corporate challenge division of the Coal
Miner’s Classic bicycle race, which capped Bike-to-Work activities.

Hackney (right), who coached the team, says: “Though many
people biked up the mesa on Bike-to-Work Day, the Transportation
Alternative Program’s shuttle services and the bus pass program
are at the core of UCAR’s success at reducing drive-alone
commute trips.”
