| While in Innsbruck, Austria, for the Mesoscale Alpine Project last fall, UCAR's Joach Kuettner made a side trip to Germany. Joach received an honorary doctorate from the University of Munich in early November, only a few weeks after his 90th birthday. The diploma, written entirely in Latin (including Joach's name), joins another honorary doctorate granted to Joach last year by the University of Colorado. One day after his visit to Munich, Joach was back in the air above the Alps on a MAP mission.
