New UCAR Academic Affiliates named

At their 8 June meeting in Boulder, Colorado, the UCAR Membership 
Committee, chaired by Thomas Warner (now at NCAR), selected five 
new institutions to join the Academic Affiliates Program (AAP).  They 
are

Northeast Louisiana University
Plymouth State College, New Hampshire
Rutgers University, New Jersey
San Francisco State University
St. Cloud State University, Minnesota

The AAP provides a way for North American educational institutions 
that are not UCAR members to participate more formally in the research 
and educational activities of the UCAR community. An affiliate must 
offer a bachelorÕs or higher degree in the atmospheric or related sciences.  
This is the programÕs third year; selection of the five institutions above 
brings the total number of affiliates to 15.
