Draft ATM long-range plan Available for review The Atmospheric Sciences Division (ATM) of the National Science Foundation is in the process of developing long-range plans for the ATM-supported community, including universities and NCAR. Pamela Stephens (NSF) is chairing a committee whose other members are Guy Brasseur (NCAR), Richard Carbone (NCAR), Robert Dickinson (University of Arizona), Timothy Killeen (University of Michigan), Robert Robinson (ATM), and Gabor Vali (University of Wyoming). A draft of the plan will be completed in mid-March and will be sent to university departments and faculty for review and comment. The final plan, which will be for the period covering FY 1996Ð2000, will be published in the summer. ATM invites comment on the plan and has set up a special Internet mailbox for that purpose, atm-lrp@nsf.gov. Comments should be submitted by 30 April. If you do not receive a copy of the plan from your department, you can request one via this mailbox.
