IV. CONCLUSION
UCAR is pleased to propose entering into a Cooperative Agreement with NSF for the continued operation and management of NCAR during 1998-2003. UCAR's plans for the management and operation of NCAR build upon the successful model that has served the atmospheric and related sciences extremely well over the past 37 years. UCAR's value is demonstrated by the strength, breadth, and quality of NCAR and other UCAR programs, the interactions among them, and their support of the scientific and educational programs in the universities, and we look forward to continuing this productive partnership.
"As one of the founding institutions of UCAR, we have actively participated both in the scientific program and in service on various committees, and foresee the continuation of such cooperation in the future. We believe that the need for UCAR has been amply confirmed over the years and that it will play an increasing role in the years ahead."
