This
module describes the distinctions between weather and climate and discusses
how the rich natural variety of weather can be systematically influenced by
climate, and how external influences, such as human activities, can cause change.
It also discusses the impacts of climate variations and societal strategies
for coping with them.
The module is divided into the following sections: Introduction, Climate, the Weather Machine, Climate Change, Observed Weather and Climate Change, Prediction and Modeling of Climate Change, Impacts of Weather and Climate Changes on Human Activities, the Need for More Research, Glossary, Suggested Readings, and Discussion Questions.
