Introduction

This series was designed by college professors in the 1990s to fill an urgent need for interdisciplinary materials on global change. The materials are aimed at undergraduate students who are not majoring in science. The modular materials can be integrated into a number of existing courses in, for example, the earth sciences, biology, physics, astronomy, chemistry, meteorology, and the social sciences. The materials have been written to capture the interest of the student who has little grounding in math and the technical aspects of science but whose intellectual curiosity is piqued by a concern for the environment.

Staying current

Much progress has been made in understanding global change since the 1990s. We strongly recommend supplementing the materials available here with peer-reviewed research findings that have emerged since the modules were published.
